Frequently asked questions

Everything you need to know about Zayvo, honestly — including the things that aren't built yet.

What is Zayvo?

Zayvo is a fitness and nutrition app built for how Nigeria actually eats and trains. It combines workout and run tracking, photo-based meal logging matched to a database of real Nigerian dishes, and an AI coach that answers based on your actual logged data. Zayvo is available now on the App Store, free to download.

Does Zayvo have a calorie counter for Nigerian food?

Yes. Zayvo's food database covers hundreds of Nigerian dishes — jollof rice, egusi, eba, suya and more — with calories, protein, carbs and fat. Searching a food by name and logging it is free and unlimited. Logging by photo matches your plate against the same database automatically: new accounts get 10 free photo scans, and Zayvo Pro includes photo scanning after that.

How does the AI coach work?

Zayvo's AI coach looks at your actual workouts, runs, meals and goals, and answers questions based on your real numbers — it doesn't invent stats or give generic advice. It's a coach you talk to, not an auto-generated plan: building and editing structured training programs is planned for a future update, not available today.

Does Zayvo work offline?

Run tracking works offline — a finished run is saved on your phone first and uploads automatically once you're back online, so a bad signal never costs you the run. Logging meals and workouts, and talking to the AI coach, need an internet connection.

Is my data secure?

Every request to Zayvo's servers requires authentication, and health and location data is treated as sensitive throughout the app. Our Privacy Policy has the full detail on what's collected and how it's used.

Is Zayvo free to use?

Yes — Zayvo is free to download, with unlimited food logging by search, 10 free photo scans, run and workout tracking, an AI coach (10 messages a day), and 7 days of progress history. A Zayvo Pro subscription adds photo scanning beyond the free 10, AI-generated meal plans, unlimited coach messages and longer progress history, priced through the App Store.

What platforms does Zayvo support?

Zayvo is a native iOS app for iPhone, available now on the App Store. It needs iOS 18 or later. It's designed for iPhone rather than iPad, and there's no Android version planned at this time.

Where does Zayvo's nutrition data come from?

Zayvo verifies its Nigerian food data against FAO/INFOODS WAFCT 2019 and USDA FoodData Central wherever possible, and clearly labels values that are still estimates rather than presenting every number as fact. The full method — what counts as verified, how serving sizes are chosen, and what the numbers do not claim — is on the methodology page at zayvofitness.com/foods/methodology.

Can I track runs and workouts?

Yes. Zayvo tracks runs with live GPS and a shareable route card, and logs strength, cardio and other workout types — typed in plain language ("bench press 3x10") or picked from a list.
